Ripoff mattress

We purchased a King Koil Pillow Top mattress from warehouse Outlet in August. The salesman told us it was Memory Foam pillow top. The manufactures warranty was 15 years to replace it unconditionally.

In January (the mattress is now 5 months old) we started notiicing the mattress sinking where we lay. We turned the mattress to help alieviate this. Since the pillow top is only on one side, the mattress cannot be flipped over. The mattress got so bad that we had to turn it every 2 days.

In May we contacted the store. They told us that salesman no longer worked there and we would have to contact the manufacturer - King Koil. We were given an 800 number. King coils gave us an Ohio 800 number. We were told that a representivie from the company would come out to look at the mattress. The Ohio person had us read the tag on the mattress and gave us a number in PA where the mattress was manufactured. The manufaturer was terribly rude and told us we wouold have to ship him our mattress at our own expense. I asked him if he had any idea how cost prohibitive that would be, and also asked him what we would sleep on in the meantime. He informed me that it was not his problem. He told me that my problem was actually with the store that sold it to me becasue King Koil have NEVER made a memory foam pillow top. He said he had no trucks or reps to come look at the mattress.

I started over and went back to the store. The owner is quite elderly and is in the store each day, but seems to let the manager handle all decisions. The manager told me that she would take care of things. She called me back and said she talked to the same man at King Koil and we did indeed have to ship the matress back to him. She found a store in New Philadelphia (about 45 minutes from us) that would be willing to ship it back to King Koil when they had a load going there. She said at our own expense, we needed to load the matress and take it to the New Philadelpia store. I told her that their truck should come get it since they sold me the bad mattress in the first place. She said she would not do that. She said what she could do was lend us a mattress while ours was gone, but again, we would have to come pick it up ourselves.

We went out to get the "Loaner" which was supposed to be a new king size mattress. They had us go to the back of their lot in a very old, very rusty trailer. They got out a mattress that was in a bag covered with rust stains. She assured me that the rust was on the bag, not the mattress. When we got the mattress home it was not a king, but rather a queen.

My husband called the store the next day and told her that we would be bringing both mattresses back and at this point, just wanted out money refunded. We had been lied to about the memory foam and ripped off. She said she was not responsible for what a sales person said that no longer worked there, and since it was not in writing, she had no proof. She refused a refund and yelled at my husband and then hung up on him.

We have given up and realized we got badly ripped off. I just want to make sure other folks from the area do not ever shop in this store, nor buy a product with a King Koil tag on it. Neither will stand behind any kind of warranty.
