We also bought a brand new King Koil mattress and box spring. We were offered either free delivery of the new mattress and disposal of the old one OR a bed frame. We already had a bed frame so we chose free delivery. It wasn't long before the mattress sagged so far down that we could hardly climb up the sides to get out of the bed!
When we went back to the store where we bought the mattress, they told us that they had just found out themselves that the King Koil mattresses they were selling required a frame with some kind of extra support leg in the center. This information is available at the King Koil web site in the "Learning Center" but we did not know that when we bought our mattress. The store said that complaints were coming in from other customers and they were in the process of trying to find out if King Koil would do anything for them because the store could not afford to refund money to all of the people who bought these mattresses.
Since King Koil mattresses require a special bed frame they should never be sold without it. The frame should be included in the price of the mattress, not as as extra option and this should be clear to the stores that sell them.
