I was contactacted by Atlantic magazine service saying i had won a free magazine subsription and which magazines would i be interested in. I named three of the magazines from thier choice. Then i was told that i could get others at a greatly reduced price and be eligible for a lottery drawing but, that this was only available to visa and mastercard subscribers.
Against my better judgement i went ahead i gave them my no. The supposed supervisor called me back and said i was not eligible because mine was a visa check card not a credit card only. I said fine. But, to my amazement i was billed any way for a year subscription. When i asked how this was possible i was informed that whoever told me i was ineligible misspoke and that i cannot cancell and now i have bounce check fees as well for not planning on this money taken out.
I am a disabled woman on a fixed income and i think they prey on that. They have called my house several times when i was not home and been rude to my daughter and my husband. Is there any way to stop these people from getting away with this?
