Ripoff Inflated Charges to Credit Card Billing & CSR is AWFUL

We've had Dish Network for 2 years.in that time, the service has been ok, not spectacular, just ok. We live in a rural/moutainous area & we often have down time due to the weather. Although this can't be helped the signal is out hours before severe storms & often just because of wind. The weather is not the reason for my complaint here though, I'll take that up elsewhere at a later date.

We paid DISH via credit card every month, normally receive our statement a day or so before/after our card has been billed. The last 2 months I've noticed the bill has been arriving late but going up in cost $10-20 which doesn't make sense since we haven't gotten pay per view. I called DISH network & they had no reason nor adequate reply for the increase. Told me they'd have someone look into it & went on to threaten me not to remove my credit card. WTH? Naturally, no-one followed up, received no response why my bill was higher than normal.

On the next invoice, the bill was inflated again with no explanation. I called DISH & requested my credit card removed, I'd pay manually by check after reviewing my actual charges. "Sure, no problem" the csr rep said, "that will go into effect at month end after the next billing date". So they'll get another month of inflated charges that you can't dispute... Great.

A week later I get a past due notice in the mail for 2x the amount of my monthly service. Called DISH network & they claim to have removed my credit card the day I requested not at month end. "Based on the records, you called in to remove your credit card information on March 21. Our system cannot be set to remove a service, or channel, on a later date".

Seems their billing is adequate enough to boost their profits yet incapable of determining timelines. Is a system this inadequate secure enough to house credit card data? I don't think so now ~ that rep would have been well advised to keep their fingers off the keyboard in admitting system flaws.

Yet DISH is demanding I trust their not so adequate billing system with my credit card (again) insisting on immediate online payment (in advance) for 2 months. The csr told me I need to re-enter my credit card information or else my service would be canceled & I'd be put in collections for not updating my credit card information. The rep refused to put that statement in writing although he seemed well rehearsed.

They can't threaten me for choosing to pay by mail but they are ~ received another email today from Dish demanding I update my credit card for billing purposes. I replied "Payment has been sent via US mail" & received this "Please be advised that mailing a payment will take 7 to 10 business days before payment is posted on one's account. Please see below for options to update your credit card information" They just won't let it go!

This is a total fraud, when they had my cc info they charged inflated amounts & when caught they threaten to ruin my credit if I don't allow them access to continue to rip me off. My bill is paid current so I don't know what their actual problem is other than I refuse to be overcharged or ripped off.

It's going to be an interesting fight ~ I come from a family of lawyers LOL Something tells me this won't be the first time DISH network is under an investigation/microscope for credit card & billing fraud.
