I subscribed to Match.com late one night back in February. The confirmation email I received told me I had three days to cancel if I changed my mind. After thinking about it all night and debating whether I wanted to deal with it right now or not, I cancelled the next morning. A few days later I noticed that my debit card had still been charged, even after receiving an email stating that it would not be.

At that point I let it go, because after working for customer service in the past, I knew it could take a few weeks to receive the credit. Now here it is, two months later, and no credit. My first email to them went unanswered. The next one I sent received your typical form response. The third one received another form response telling me they could better assist me if I called. So today I did, only to be told they could not give me my money back, that I should have called them right after I cancelled so they could send me a state form that I would need to fill out and send in to the state of Ohio, and they only refund up to ten days after the cancellation. What has the state of Ohio got to do with this??? Match.com are the ones who took my money!

I would have thought that a company that gets so much advertisement would have better policies/customer service than this. Given that I cancelled my subscription less than 24 HOURS after I first subscribed, I don't believe my card ever should have been charged. I wish now I had read the reports already filed against them before I had ever signed up.
