Ever bought something in Office Max? They are always going to try to sell you an extended warranty "Max Assurance" by General Electric.
The information about this plan is printed on a yellow brochure which says:
"Comprehensive coverage of functional parts and labor beginning day 91" (day 91 underlined)
They like to receive your money but then when you call them they will tell you that the information about their yellow brochure is not the contract. They refer you to the fineprinted on the back of a yellow receipt which they give to you after you pay and they refuse any service before one year is over. I talked to a "Max Assurance Specialist", Jennifer who told me that she has never seen the yellow brochure, even after I had faxed it to her. Then she started talking about the pink slip and I told her to tell me why the information in the yellow brochure talks about the 91st day. She went like: "The pink slip is the contract, the yellow brochure is not the contract." I repeated my question about 10 times and received the same answer from her 10 times like listening to a scratched record. Probably that is what Office Max is teaching their people in their rhetoric courses.
