I received into my office (we're a resort specializing in hospitality) via mail or email, an already filled out form from Yellow Page Canada which looked totally legit. Being that we advertise in the "Yellow Pages", I signed and faxed back to where it said to send it. It turns out that the logo is bogus as the logo for the real "Yellow Pages" has the fingers walking to the right, whereas, Yellow Page Canada has the fingers walking to the left. After submitting to our bookkeeper, it was decided that we didn't want to be required to pay the $129 per month on a two year contract as stated on this form. I began looking into it and realized that it is a bogus company after contacting "Yellow Pages". They instructed me to file complaints with the Competition Bureau and yourselves.
The company I received this from is: Yellow Page Canada managed by Open Business Directory Ltd., at Al Barsha, PO Box 450676, Dubai, UAE - email address: [email protected].
We would appreciate any and all assistance with this matter as we feel that they may come after us to collect on monies owned on the signed contract which we feel is totally bogus as no advertising will be forthcoming. We have not paid any money to them to date but may have this turned over to collections in the future.
