Great Expectations
Ripoff

I'll admit that I was optimistic about meeting women through this dating service. THe Sales person put together convincing reasons to join which included hundreds of members to choose from, going on multiple dates a week, and female members looking for a nice reliable guy to meet. The sales person also stated that decent looking successfull women can't find a good guy at a bar so they come to this service to find someone especially because they shelled out so much money to do so.

Of course I knew these reasons were over exaggerated but, I thought there was potential to meet someone regardless since I was a decent looking although not a Brad Pitt but, never the less attractive in ways since I was in good physical shape and held down a well paying white collar job. Qualities i felt can enable me to meet some one desireable to my tastes.

After a year in this service it's safe to say that my great expectations have gone unfullfilled. The problem with the way this company does business is that they have very few members in each city which makes the odds of meeting someone compatible very slim. Thats why they never show you the photo album of their members before you join. What you are left with is a bind of either picking some one that is very attractive who is likely looking for a male model with a Donald Trump size check book or you can pick some one that is below your physical standards which will not be satisfying.

There is a lesson to be learned here for all that are reading this and that lesson is that if you failed to find someone that meets your needs in normal casual sitautions then your not going to find that person in Great Expectations because the reaction towards you will be the same. Customers dont lower their standards in this dating service so dont expect that you'll be dating Angelina Jolie while looking like an average Joe. Both the customer and GE are to blame here for being unrealistic about society.

Put an effort into finding some one in real life and leave the dating services to the 50 year olds. They at least have a legetimate reason for joinging since many of their peers just dont go out as much at their age. If your in your 20's and 30's go venture out and find some one in the real world, there's plenty of candidates out there.
