On February 14 my fiance and I went to the kyosk at Rushmore mall and inquired about my credit. We thought we may hook up cell service again. The guy working, Derrick, ran my credit and told me that I could hook up to five lines up with no deposit. I told him that I was not interested in doing anything right now.
He followed us to a store and kept telling us the promotions that he could give us and how much it would be if we did a shared line plan. We again said no. He later followed us to the food court and said hey I got these phones and you would get them for free. He says I would take it if its free and then you can sell them later. We said no again.
Today is March 2 and I got my mail.in my mail there is this bill for $91.75. It is for my cell service through Alltel wireless. It has a number, an account number, and they even have my social security number on it. I tried to get them to do something and everyone seems to think that Derrick is a hero. He didn't take any credit for the sale of the phone... They told me. The guy also tells the Alltel customer service rep. That the phone is in missing status. I now have cell service to a phone that only God himself knows where it is. I don't know where to go from here.
They don't really seem to want to do anything. He says we have to look up your contract. There is no contract I told him, I didn't sign up for service, so how is there a contract? He goes if you signed anything then you are gonna pay for the phone. I did not sign anything, but what do I do? It seems to me that they are running some sort of a scam. The manager was so rude to me. When he found out that I work for a Verizon dealer he started in on me about how much better they were than we are and he had me in tears. I want something done with this. Please let me know what to do or where to go from here?
