I usually would have used (competitor's name deleted - see below), but they moved and jackson hewitt moved into their building. I went there believing i would receive the same services. But i was wrong.
The preparer was friendly and appeared to have knowledge of the system and completed my return in about 15mins. Which i thought was great. I paid 101.00 for what i thought was eletronic filing, but turned out to be a paper return. I was not aware that's what had happened, because the preparer said i would receive my return in 10 days and if not on the date the most definetly in 21 days.
Well, this is day 24. No money and no explanation. I phoned jh and received no adequate response. I phoned the main office in my area and was told to go back to the office i received services. Because of a snow stormed they've been closed.
After doing all was told to do the bottom line is. I paid for services i didnot get, did receive the refund as claimed i would and overpaid for the previlege. Do your taxes yourself, eletronically file yourself and save the money.
