The All-in-One printer could easily have been purchased elsewhere. The way I decided was to ask questions prior to purchasing the printer. I asked if they had an extended warranty. He told me told me that he had and asked me how many years I wanted. I asked if I would be able to extend it again later. He told me that I would. So I chose to purchase 2 years. I thought that it was a true extended extended warranty. If I had known that it wasn't a true extended warranty, I would have purchased it at another store, such as Radio Shack.
They handed me my receipt with a pamphlet explaining
the plan, but it was stapled to the back of their receipt, which completely obscurred the pamphlet.
The only way I would be able to change my mind, at this point, was to ask for a refund, if I known. I thought that the pamphlet was an advertisement for more products, so I filed the receipt with the pamphlet. I have told my friends not to buy from Staples, especially, if they plan on buying electronics. HP pays for Shipping and handling, so there is no need for Staples, Inc. To provide that service.in their warranty. The salesman never told me that I would have to register the warranty prior to it becoming effective. They refuse to repair the printer, they sent me a 25 dollar certificate instead.
