I entered into a contract with Leahy Interior Architectural Design, a Washington, D.C.-based Interior Design firm to assist me in a remodeling a kitchen and similar services for my house. As part of the contract, I was required to pay $1,250 as a deposit.
Since I was being charged on a hourly basis ($135/hr), I was not happy when Leahy would discuss either his personal life or other non-related issues whenever he came to my house.in addition, any phone calls, even related to discussing his invoices to me, was considered by him to be billable which is dishonest if not illegal.
When I complained and terminated the contract, this pompous interior designer refused to give me back the unused portion of my 1,250 deposit.
