I ordered a Moped from Target.com around November 14th. They promise to ship in 5-10 days. Target put a hold on the funds in my checking account to cover the purchase on that day. Over the weeks the sent me email messages that a delay has occurred and the moped will be shipped in another 5 days. I asked target if there is someone I can call to speak with regarding this order and was informed that everything happens automatically by computer and there is no purchasing agent I could speak with.
I told them I wanted to cancel the order and was told that the order cannot be canceled because everything is done AUTOMATICALLY by computer. I emailed that I wanted to cancel before they ship because the most expensive part of the process is the shipping. They told me to refuse the order when it ships and they will refund all my money. On the day the trucking company is to deliver the Moped they call and I explain I am cancelling the order. I then get a call from the manufacturer of the Moped (They gave him my cell phone number - dont trust the confidentiality part of this online transaction) who wanted to know why I was refusing the shipment. I explained nad he said he understood - but that target had pushed him to ship the order. He was now out the cost of shipping the moped to me and having it shipped back to his place of business. I paid by an electronic payment made over the internet for appx. $954.00.
Target has now held my money for more than 30 days and HAS NOT refunded my money. They now say the policy is to refund within 4 weeks of a return. It is amazing that they can FREEZE my money for 4 weeks befor ethey ship a product, and then HOLD my money for 4 weeks after the product is refused because they couldnt ship it in a timely manner. Do not do bussiness with Target - at there stores or on the internet.
They will decieve, lie, and hold your money for 2 months like they did to me. And if you think there is a way to lodge a formal complaint with Target - well good luck, there is no information on thier site to lodge a complaint and from the 12 emails I have sent to them there have been no intelligent replies to date.
