Rip-Off, Moving Scam

We hired this company Priceline Movers in July to move some furniture from our Atlanta GA office that we closed to our California HQ. They were very helpful upfront, gave us a competitive quote.

They kept in contact throughout the entire process up to the day they picked up our items August 15. They even called us from the GA office to verify all the items that were coming.

The very next week we got a call that they would be delayed because of "Katrina". Yeah Cheap Shot... We were understanding and told them to contact us as soon as they were able to move again.

Well 3 weeks went by and no contact. We finally called them again. They said that they just got their trucks able to move again and that our furniture would be here within a week.

The week past and still no furniture. We called them again, and they gave us the excuse that our furniture was miss-placed and did not get on the truck that came to California. They assured us that it would be coming as soon as they had another truck coming this way to bring our furniture, and that we would be fully refunded and not charged any additional fees.

Well time past, weeks went by we called 1 - 2 times a week and got a voice mail each time. Finally we left a message that if we did not hear from them we were going to get the authorities involved.

We then got a call from the "Owner" Aaron Zungy telling us that he loaded our furniture and it would be here in a week with our refund check.

Well it is now November 2 (3 months later) and we have not heard from them. And during all this they have changed the name of their company 2 times under the same web address as Priceline Movers. It went from Priceline Movers to A City Movers and checking it today it is now just City Movers.

In our research we did discover that this company and it's many A.K. A's have been doing these scams for quite some time. They are ran by an individual known as Ran Ohana, Aaron Zungy or Zongy, (maybe the same person) and they have been able to allude authorities because they keep their scam small time.

They come to you through internet Moving search engines that have you put your info in and they have "qualified" moving companies call you. We used www.topmoving.com and that is how Priceline Movers got our info.

They send you a quote; have you send an upfront deposit via personal check only (no credit cards). They schedule the pick up and the day of move call and let you know that they are going to be late because their truck is having trouble and they have to get a rental truck temporarily.

They show up in the rental trucks, pick up your items, and then tell you they are taking it back to their storage warehouse to be put on another moving truck.

Then you never see it again!

We have filed with BBB, but when they sent correspondence to the address that we provided, it comes back as undeliverable.

They do not have a valid operating license, and they do not have a valid certificate of insurance or Tax ID number.

The police will not do anything and say that we have to file a civil suite. They do not have time to go after small time rings such as this because they have more serious cases to solve.

I think these individuals have stolen Thousands of dollars or more from unsuspecting victims.

Beware of choosing a moving company. Make sure they send you a Bill of Lading, Verify their Insurance Certificate. Do not go with any company that gives you a quote by cubic feet. They should be only giving you a quote by weight.

I hope this helps to stop these Thief's. They are still out there and they are using the web to do there deeds...
