This company, Capital Choice Consumer Credit, sent me a pre-approved letter in the mail promising me an initial platinum credit card line of $5,000. A fee of $39 would activate it. It sounded good, but I looked for a customer service telephone number to call so I could ask some questions. Of course it is a non-refundable fee.
I could not find a customer service number! That was the clue I knew something was shady. I tried to look them up on the internet but the site was not working. Then I saw somebody else had reported here.
The catch is they say you get a Platinum card. It does not say Master Card or Visa. You end up getting a membership to thier company and they send you catalogs where that $5,000 credit is only good for their company. It is very misleading, but I found out it is legitimate. Beware if you see this come to your mailbox!
