On December 29 my husband and I received a letter from Capital Choice Consumer Credit saying that he had been approved for a $5,000.00 platinum credit card. There was a $39.00 one time only membership fee. The letter further stated that he was all ready approved and the card was reserved in his name. We talked it over and decided to apply. We sent in a $43.00 check, for rush processing. We heard nothing until Jan. 11. When a representative of Capital Choice phoned us. He told my husband that the credit card was a Visa Platinum card and could be used anywhere Visa is accepted. He then gave my husband a 1-800 number, (1-800-874-9164) to call and activate his card when it arrived. I thought this was unusual. So I got on the web and found this web site. After reading your reports I immediately ordered a stop payment on the check. Thank God I caught it in time. Sure enough the next day I received a catalog and some stupid (not even real plastic) card in the mail. The so called platinum Visa was a charge card good for purchases only in their catalogs, which were grossly overpriced. The representative on the phone out right blatently lied he said "Platinum Visa" These people are liars and will do anything to get your money. Do Not Trust Them! You'll be sorry and out some cash if you do!
