Complaint / Review
LGS, New Credit Financial
LGS, New Cred Ripoff SCAM, Bait and Switch

Today I received a few calls from this company, not unlike some of the others who complained. It stated with a "You are preapprove for a credit card" call. Now, I've never been called to be offered a credit card before - In fact, I have rather poor credit, but have been contacting old companies, paying off accounts, etc, to improve it, so thought maybe this could be legit.

The representative asked a few simple questions, like did I have a job, did I make more then 200 a week, and did I have a checking account. These were sufficently vague enough that I answered them. Then I was told someone else would call me within five miniutes, and to give them my pre-approved code "2203".

DING. Why was *I* the one giving the agent calling me this code? *HE* is evidently telling this guy to call me, why isn't HE telling the guy I'm approved or not? At this point, the man had mentioned the name of the Finance Institution, but done so quickly that I wasn't sure what he had said. Ok, I thought, I'll get the name from the next guy.

Guy 2 calls. First of all, I can hear other people in the background, very loudly. Ding. Unprofessional call center - I've worked in Technical Support (NOT SALES), and know you have to be running a very cheap outfit for me to hear at least 2 other agents in the background.

Guy 2 offers me my choice of a Visa or Mastercard, $2,500 limit, etc, etc, No Fee, etc, they report all good payments to all 3 credit services instead of just 1 like most companies, they report good standings every month, not quarterly as required, your credit rebuilds faster, and no credit check, they just need to verify with my bank that I have an account in good standing. Ding. Account in good standing? I don't know about you, but all my bank cares about is that my direct deposit hits twice a month.

So... To check with my bank, could they have my account number, please? DING. You called me, I don't know who you really are, and your asking for bank account information? DING. You never asked for that confirmation code that Guy 1 made a big deal about? DING, you're using slang and poor grammer on the phone? DING, those techs I heard in the background are YELLING at someone?

I'm sorry, I don't have my bank account number immediately availible. That's ok, he says. There is a $125 dollar application fee, will that be a problem? DING. Ding. Ding. "Yes, do you have a number where I can call you back?"

I got 866 241 6186, name of Jeremy. Again, slurred company name. Hangup. Call the number. Voice tells me they closed at 5 DING and press 1 to leave a message or 2 to talk to support. 2 for support, I'm on hold, told 2nd in queue... Wait... 1st in queue... Wait... No one to answer your call, leave a message. The voice system sounds like "CCS", and the slurred company names didn't sound like an acronym, so I leave a message that I suspect someone is using their number as a callback for a phishing scam.

At this point I'm mentally reveiwing my answers, ensuring that I said nothing to let them get a CC in my name... Hah! As if I qualified for one anyway!

I get another call, from a lady this time, MUCH more professional sounding, NO sound from other agents, good grammer, same scam. She gives me the website www.newcreditfinancial.com. Now I have a clear name! DING. Website looks like it took 5 miniutes. I don't have my account number immediately availible, can I call you back? 727 289 0288 (May be 298)

Punch the name into Yahoo... Comes up multiple times on complaint and other, similiar sites.
