I too was taken in by these slippery cons. I too was told my idea was great and to send money two times. The first time was for the initial marketing report, (which I have come to find out is a bunch of made up figures and estimates), the second to move forward so they can "get you idea to market". I was told to hurry up and sign up so my idea would make it to the next convention. What a load of crap. I was not awhare of their great system, mailing me twenty so called leads every three months so I could stuff envelopes and mail them out at my expence.
After a few months I decided to call some of the companies that where on the mailing list and found out that they were not pre-screened at all.
My invention is a pet product, and some of the companies I call were pet groomers, farms, mom and pop stores, not manufactures! I did not find out until later that the marketing research they did for me was a bunch of useless figures they though together and everytime I phoned them to find out where they got the figures they would pass the blame to another department. I soon realized I had been taken for a fool.
I am definitely going to take legal action, to get my money back and also to protect future victims.
