I purchased a laptop on feb 5 through laptop xchange, in las vegas, nv. I purchased a warranty 3 year through vac service corp. On 8/30/04 my laptop crashed and i took it back to laptop xchange to be serviced. I was told that they could not fix it at all and was advised to contact vac service. I contacted vac service in september and was advised to return the laptop to them via ups (which they provided the box & the tracking #) i was also told that i would be receiving a refund of $320 within 30 days.
1 year later, i am still waiting for that refund. I have contacted their customer service (800) 206-7848 in october i was told at that time "that my refund check was in process and that i should be receiving my check in the mail." 2 weeks goes by i called again and this time i was told "they are experiencing a back log and their working on it." it is now october and the response is still the same.
If you purchased a warranty through vac services and have a refund coming and it took over a year to receive it or have not received your refund (interest should be added). At this time the only recourse/action is to file a complaint with the attorney general in new york, because it is clearly, in my opinion, i am being ripped off. Vac service contract states "within 30 to 60 days for refund.
So if anyone out their shares the same dilemna, let it be known!
