I purchased wedding set from Kay Jewelers in Laurel, Md and within 6 months one of the channel set diamonds fell out. I took it in for replacement and the diamond they replaced it with was smaller than all the others in the channel setting. It took them 2 and a half months to do the repair because they said they lost the ring and were trying to relocate it.
I had to wait until they found it to get it back. The replacement diamond was very obviously smaller and you can see where the gold band had to be squeezed tighter together to hold the smaller diamond in so it won't fall out, being smaller than the other diamonds now. I have continued to take it in every 6 months for inspection, and it is a good thing because then the main stone in the engagement ring became loose and almost fell out. I don't dare let them send it out to repair because I am afraid it will also come back with a smaller diamond. I am not yet sure what to do or who to go to.
