I had called to cancel my account, but discovered that it did not expire until June. So I asked if there was a cheaper plan I could switch to. The rep found a cheaper plan, which she said I could switch over to immediately and that it would still expire June.
And then I said I needed a new phone and we went over my choices and found one I could have for free. So all of that was agreed to and I was turned over to someone else to finalize the deal.
They told me that signing up for the new deal obligated me for two additional years and that the phone I wanted was not free. I said that that was the deal their rep had made and they should honor it and eat the cost. They said sorry, can't do that. The rep made a mistake and they couldn't honor the deal.
So I said forget it and I'm looking forward to cancelling my contract in June. They responded that they wanted to keep me as a customer and is there something they could do. I said honor the original deal. Nope. Sorry.
Anyway this went on for 45 minutes and ended with me in a rage, accusing them of a bait and switch and promising to popularize their lying ways on the internet.
