I signed up for the BellSouth Complete Choice plan, which I understood to include unlimited free local calls and per-call charges for long distance calls (in other words, the same type of calling plan most of us grew up with) for $34 per month plus a one-time $40 installation fee that would be broken into 3 payments to appear on my first 3 bills at a cost of $1 per month financing charge. My long distance bill was about $14 for my first month. My local charges were about $126, including the first payment toward the installation fee. I was charged an additional $24.94 for "Complete Choice Plan ($34.00/mo)". That seems like a duplicated charge to me. I was also charged $23.76 for 198 minutes of local usage. No one ever mentioned to me that I would be charged for local telephone calls. My total overcharge was $48.70 for this month. For someone who clears less than $1000 per month, that's a big deal. I'm in the process of inquiring about these charges right now.
