We booked a move with Global Moving Services, www.globalmovingservices.com. We were NEVER told the Globus Moving LLC, would be picking up our item. To our surprise that is who arrived to move our items.
When working with Dana at Global Moving Services, she gave me a Price Guarantee for the items listed and a rate of 3.2 for additional cubic feet. My price guarantee was $2894.40. We were very careful with the item checklist as Dana and Myself went over this many time.
My move was scheduled for Thursday 2nd at 8am. I received a call on Tuesday saying that they would be able to send me the best crew if I can do it on Wednesday. (SO WE RUSHED TO GET EVERYTHING DONE TO HELP THE MOVING COMPANY OUT! BUT ALSO TO HAVE A GOOD CREW, LOADING OUR FURNITURE) What a joke!!!
The day of the move I was Shocked to find out that working with Dana at Global Moving Services was a waste of time, because Globus Moving LLC had prices of there own. So when Dana says NO HIDDEN FEES, and NO SURPRISES that not true!
The men started to load the truck right away, At this point I told the foreman that I was over 10,5 cubic boxes. He said fine, that there is some items that they will have to wrap for protection (example TV, Roll Top Desk, Curio Cabinet ETC...) I was fine with that. Think it would be a normal rate. I was WRONG!!!
They wrapped stuff that would not need to be wrapped with the plastic wrap and packing tape and the Blankets that I was originally told would be used. I enclosed a picture of 2 chairs and how they were wrap, to give you an idea of the packing material charges! I was Charge $645 in Packing Material! The items they wrapped and packed for me BROKE!!!
The Foreman was making comments about how much the boxes weight, not the size, I pointed out to him several time that my quote was bases on cubic feet not weight!
We had items set aside that Dana said I would not have to have boxed up, but the foreman said I had to box them so I had to go buy more boxes, Or pay for him to box them for me, I went and bought $50.in additional boxes. (This is what he said made me go so far over my quote)
We had NO additional Furniture or Appliances we only had 10 additional boxes (also my quote with Dana was on 50 - 5 cubic boxes and 3 wardrobe, 1 wood box, and 18 rubbermaid boxes. We had 60 boxes that were 5 cube or small 32 of the boxes were apple boxes from the grocery store maybe 2.5 cube) Come to think of it we were talking the night before that it should cost the same or less then my quote because of the size of the boxes!
At this point I still am unaware of what's about to happen. The movers are Done the Truck is loaded. Its time for me to pay my first half of the bill, KEEP IN MIND I THOUGHT MY PRICE WAS GOING TO BE $2894.40. The foreman has me go out to look at the truck which I didn't look at before the started so I have NO idea what was in there to start.
The truck was full, he said I went way over my cubic feet. I said this is why I got a PRICE GUARANTEE. He said no, I had to pay more. So I'm freaking out I call Dana at Global she says she will call me back in 30 min. She never calls back, The foreman acting so concerned says this is the best we can do and we go back and forth for a while. KEEP IN MIND ALL MY STUFF IS ON THIS TRUCK ALREADY!!!
We ended up paying $4350 for this horrible move!!!
This was $1455.60 over my original GUARANTEED PRICE!!!
So my items leave with this company I know nothing about because I booked my job with GLOBAL MOVING SERVICES www.GLOBALMOVINGSERVICES.com NOT GLOBUS MOVING LLC.
So I get a call Sunday 6/5 in the evening from the drive with our stuff he says they will be at our house about 8am Monday morning, at 12pm I called there dispatch because they have not arrived with our stuff yet, and we have been waiting all morning for them to show up!
Finally at 1:30 they arrive the first thing I notice, ITS NOT THE SAME TRUCK! They moved my stuff off the original yellow Globus Moving truck and put it on a white Enterprise rental truck! Come to find out, the truck was used to move my items and some one else.
They start to unload the item and we are noticing that boxes are smashed, I had to ask them to put together the furniture that was taken apart by the other guys which they did to an extent. One box was placed in the appropriate room all the other boxes were stacked in the garage. (The foreman asked if they could set the boxes in the garage I thought that meant while they unloaded the truck then they would be put in the appropriate room (TO MY SURPRISE NOPE THEY LEFT THEM IN THE GARAGE). Which making it I had to move the boxes from room to room.
As things were getting unpacked they noticed that items were broken or damaged.
#1 item # 111 the master bed which is a sleigh queen size bead that the frame under the bed is snapped in half, I took a picture of were it would go if it was not broken. (At this time I'm sleeping on the floor on the mattresses) The bed frame is unrepairable!!!
#2 item # 128 this was a roll top desk 1 side was completely broken off the other side is cracked completely down the side. (My job is working from home this desk is and essential part of my job) The desk is unrepairable!!!
#3 item #150 this is a Pink beach cruiser (BRAND NEW) bought for mother day! The seat is torn the bike has scratches all over it and fender is competally flattened (It make a horrible squeak when you try and ride it.
#4 item #151 this is a Gaint racing Mountain Bike (New it was bought for my husband birthday which was 4/24) This one the brake line is broken the seat is torn and it has scratches all over it!
#5 item #129 a Welding Cart, this has been bent in multiple areas and is unsteady now for use. (the foreman tried to bend it back in a few of the areas and was unable to fix at all)
#6 item 136 this is a Philips Magnovox 27 inch TV, This one there is a hole in the TV Screen (which makes it not possible to see the picture clear on TV and the on, off power button is pushed inside.
#7 Item 137 this is a sewing table the has legs that fold in and out, the brackets were bent and you are unable to use the table any longer, (This is part of my job I sew item then sell them)
#8 Item 143 Dryer, we had to have a repair man come out and fix the dryer because it had been dropped or rattled very hard and it separated the This cost was.
I have never had to do a long distance move before, but we have talk to several people who have and the overall opinion is that we were RIPPED OFF in more ways then one!!!
We are requesting to be Credited back for the broken items in full (due to the events of this move) We were never told that our move was going to be done by Globus also never told that our item were going to be removed from one truck to another. Also to be reimbursed in full for the packing material. (As the items packed and wrapped by your employees are the ones that broke.) We would like to be refunded for the additional boxes and the dryer repair
A few things to comment on would be when you calling Globus Moving LLC. You have to make several call to have anyone call you back, then when you talk to the dispatcher (who had the nerve to tell me he does not know what I'm so upset about) he acts like your (the customer) is in the wrong for even asking him a question.
Also if your allergic to cigarette smoke, This is not the company to move with, they smoke in the truck while loading and unloading the truck so all your items smell like a cigarette. I was never ones asked if its ok if they smoke or even if I mind.
The hole point of hiring professional movers is to take some of the stress out of moving, In return I have had the most stressful 2 weeks of my life!!! This was a horrible moving experience!
They want to give me $80 back! Thats it! $80 bucks to replace my bed, desk, tv, bikes ect...
