Two Men And A Truck
Glendale North Stand and stare at my expense! Ripoff Moving company scams

April 4

Two Men and a Truck came to load a Budget 24 foot truck.

They went through the usual walk around the house determining which boxes were being loaded, which were staying for a donation. All boxes were marked and separated from each other.

Anyway, I called this particular franchise, because I hired them 4 years before for a cross-country load, just like this one. Same size truck, etc.

One guy worked in the house moving boxes to the driveway, while the other loaded the truck like a puzzle, so it would seem. He spent quite a few hours standing and staring at the load like he was performing brain surgery.

Ultimately, it took them 8 hours to load this truck, which took 3-4 hours the last time I had it done. We had the same furniture, actually less to load. They also loaded boxes that were to be donated and left off ones that were to make the trip. There was a $450.00 Sears lawnmower that was to be loaded and there was no room for that either.

When 5:00 pm came around, the guy loading the truck wanted to leave it unfinished and promised to return the next morning to complete the job. But, he ask me to pay for the completed job and sign off on it. I disagreed, and he finished what he could, and that took another 2 hours, at which he still did not have the job completed correctly.

I objected with the manager on the phone about paying for eight hours, when it was obvious that this job had been bungled! He said that I should pay, and then he would address it with the owner the next day. It was never corrected.

When we arrived in Indiana, the brand new La-Z-Boy sleeper was loaded into the truck on its side up against the truck, and unprotected. It caused $500.00 of fabric damage to the sofa. The sofa was only three weeks old and cost $1000.00!

We managed after several discussions to get the owner to send a check for those damages, but the eight hour load was dismissed as, Oh Well!

I even agreed to for-go all other damages to get the sofa repair covered. We had a lamp, computer desk, bikes, and other small misc. Items damaged or destroyed.

Another Two Men and a Truck franchise unloaded the truck and documented the hap-hazard work performed by the franchise in Phoenix.

I feel that we should also receive credit for the time over and above that it took to load the truck. The franchise in Indiana agreed that it was a 3-4 hour load job. Which I mentioned earlier about the first load in 2001 that the same franchise performed.
