AKA Acceris Communications ripoff Switched my long distance telephone provider without my consent and billed me $206.65 Plus I paid charges to bellsouth for the swich and then to switch it back

I recieved my bellsouth phonebill last month, and to my surprise the bill was $345.00. As I looked in the bill, someone had called Philadelphia, Pa A LOT!

I immediately called the phone company to report these charges, explaining I don't know anyone there. I explained that I had no long distance usage on my phone in a long time and that I didn't even choose AT&T, Sprint, Mci or any of the other popular choices, because I never call long distance. Not to mention that I have a password on my account so I cannot get spammed.

Bellsouth explained that someone had swithed my long distance service to WorldxChange Corp.

Bellsouth, who I have done business for a very long time knows I haven't had any long distance calls on my phone in years.

I have multiple blocks on my service to keep from having problems. You cannot even dial 900 numbers from my phone. I have to pay them for the switch to WorldxChange Corp. And I have to pay them now to switch it back. I froze my service as they call it so that no one can change it again. I'm disputting the charges, but when I called WorldxChange Corp. At
877-955-5335, operator #1062 was rude, and arrogant and told me that I'm responsible whether I authorized them to switch me or not.

I never verbally or in writing authorized them as my long distance provider. And I told them I will not pay those charges. The truth is, if I don't pay bellsouth will have to shut off my services. I'm a single mom of two girls, I work full time and barely make enough money to make ends meat as it is.

Don't these big corporations have anyone else better suited to pay there large bills that they can pick on? Truth is, why would I make calls and then refuse to pay. I told them to bill the other party at the other number. They refuse!

I hope I prevent others from getting taken. Put a 1010 dial around numbers block on your phone to prevent this from happening to you. It's free. You won't be able to dial 411 or the operator but who cares. I could call 411 and the operator all day and it wouldn't cost me what this is going to cost.
