When I received my Verizon monthly bill for March, I fount a charge from OAN PrivaSafe on page #7 for a total of $16.90 (includes taxes) for some type of email/email protection service. I happily use Verizon DSL service and have no need for any other service.
When I attempted to call OAN to see what this was, on four occasions I was put into a voice mail box that was "full" and wouldn't take any more messages.
This morning, I called early, spoke to a man named Bill at 800-357-2532 x 8778 who was firm with information that "someone" had signed me up. He gave me my phone number, home address and the city of my birth! He said it was signed up on line and they have no way of telling "who did it."
Without much complaining he did reverse the charges and cancel the service and sent me an email confirmation of the credit.
My next call is to Verizon to have them block any future charges from OAN...
I was not surprised to find them in this forum of "RipOff"... I urge everyone to always scrutinize your phone bill!
