I should have run from the begining. I had an appointment with Alex from the Worcester, MA location to come out and give me a price on the move to Florida, he didn't show. We rescheduled. I sat in the car in the cold rain for an hour at a storage unit with my sick son in the car to make sure I had a price in writing. After one hour I called Alex to see where he was. He had never left the office. Alex then told me to give him a list of everything to be moved over the phone and he would guarentee me the price. I did a complete list, he guranteed me it would be 2300lbs at a price of $1300. We scheduled the pick up for Febuaey 10th @ 12:00 at the storage unit.
They showed up at 9:00 at my house! After giving me incomplete paperwork to sign I called Alex and asked him to fax me in writing the price we had agreed upon. Two hours later, he did.By then my stuff was on the truck. The price still wasn't binding. I told the I wanted to unload the truck. Alex told me he would charged a FOUR hour minimum @ $100 an hour. I didn't have nthe extra money so I had to let my stuff go forced in to paying on the actual weight. Alex and the man who loaded the truck, Dan Daniels both said my stuff wouldn't even weigh 2300lbs, so it would probably cost less.
I was told my stuff was going directly to be weighed, 20 minutes away then I could call to find out for sure. I called. No info was available. For Four days I called to get the information, leaving messages ans getting no response.
The answering service was there on the weekend. They told me all the calls they get are complaints. People wanting to know where there stuff was, why it was so damaged, or they had pricing issues.
On the 14th we left for Florida. I was told it would take 4-7 days for our stuff to arrive. Long story short it arrived 12 days later! At a new price of $2304! One thousand dollars more! I had no choice but to pay as they threatened to take my belongings to storage. While I was reviewing the paperwork I noticed two things. My stuff was weighed 3 hours after the picked it up and the weight was wrong. It was 100lbs more than the weight ticketI had asked to see. The driver called the office. They lowered the price $14 dollars!!! After a huge hassel, they lowered the price by almost $200. Still paying more than $800 over the price Alex guaranteed me. No breakdown in weight cost per pound. They couldn't tell me that.
Furniture was broken, pieces missing, mattresses dirty and ripped.
Overall, very disappointed. Horrible customer service, but they just don't care. They just keep getting suckers with their low ball estimates. Please be careful. Get everthing in writing exact before they touch your things. Don't beleive a thing someone tells you.
