Our service was terminated for a 41.39 payment. After contacting the company I was told that for 41.39 plus a 25.00 reconnection fee my service would be re-instated. On 1/28/05 I sent them via internet 70.00.
(I have a confirmation number for this transaction) After contacting the company on 1/31/05 to verify the payment they stated that they had record of the payment which was posted on 1/28/05 and our service would be back up and running in 10-15 minutes. The service was back on. Here it is 2/4/05 and after I called my automatic banking system it was brought to my attention that there was an additional $342.00 taken out of my bank account by the Intertec Digital Company in Lockport, NY.
After being on hold for 20 minutes with the Dish Network people and passed from person to person I spoke with Heather the Customer Care Specialist @ (800) 228-8428. She stated that this was an action due to default in my contract because my service was temporarly terminated.By the end of the conversation she agreed to return the $342.00 back into my bank account the same day. Thats all fine and good but with the way the banking system works, my account was never credited that money back for 5 days. OUCH! Like most people every lasy bit of cash is needed to survive. That really put a strain on me. Several checks bounced in the mean time. Thats all extra money there! $25.00 a pop!!! Who is going to pay this one now? Certainly NOT Dish Network huh?
My point here is simply, why would they do something that stupid when they already recieved the payment they wanted and re-instated our service then take it upon themselves to take an additional $342.00. How many other people are they doing this to? At this point I would NEVER refer anyone else to this company. I really don't think they realize just what they are doing to people. I know for a fact that as soon as my year contract is up I will NOT utilize their services again.
