Movers of the Valley
Please be careful when you are choosing a moving company. I wanted a piano moved - i got a quote of $150 flat fee to move it from a house to my apt. Then Tom called back and said, what floor - I said - 2nd (oh an addt fee of $25). I figured - I understand, it's gotta be hard to move this upstairs. Then he called back again and apologized "my boss won't let me do it, because we'll need 3 people instead of 2. So he charged me $225.
When the movers showed up they were 3 young boys. My boyfriend had to haul the piano up the stairs with them while i helped push. He ended up throwing out his back.
They then told us we needed to purcahse insurance through them and that their boss never explained we were on the 2nd floor.
It took them 4 hours to get it up the stairs.
And before that we waited 3 hours for them to arrive from a house 3 miles away.
DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE. They are thieves and liars and it's horrible that they take advantage of people who work hard for their money. I saved up a long time to be able to purchase a piano and have it moved. It just makes me sad and angry that my boyfriend had to work so hard and take off work to wait for them and then help them up the stairs. Please DON"T be fooled by them saying they are sorry, but they aren't good at quoting over the phone.
