Example of contract presented to me
This is a binding contract between two parties. I, BUYER, hereby agree to and will abide by everything that is stated in this contract and if I should not uphold this contract I will pay SELLER/BREEDER of KENNEL NAME the sum of five thousand dollars ($5000.00) for damages done to her kennel name and breeding lines that she has worked for many years to establish.
I, BUYER, understand that there are no cash refunds and that deposits are non-refundable. I also understand that I am not to resell or place free of charge said puppy with anyone or at another residence any under circumstance. If I am unable to keep puppy said puppy will be returned to SELLER/BREEDER of KENNEL NAME and forfeit any monies paid to SELLER/BREEDER and contract will be satisfied. I, BUYER, have paid five hundred dollars ($500.00) to SELLER/BREEDER of KENNEL NAME and owe her a female pick of the litter back and SELLER/BREEDER must approve the male that said puppy is bred to when said puppy is of breeding age. I understand that I may have to use an outside male to satisfy this binding contract between SELLER/BREEDER of KENNEL NAME and myself. I, BUYER, agree to feed my puppy Chicken Soup for The Dog Lovers Soul and to keep up to date on all shots and wormings. I also agree that if said dog has not produced or been bred by eighteen (18) months I will send said puppy back to SELLER/BREEDER at KENEL NAME so that she can breed said puppy to her approved male at my cost which is stud fee, food and board of $15.00 per day and $20.00 per week for grooming and bitch must stay until puppies are born and ready to be sold at that time the pick of the litter will be chosen and the mother and rest of the litter will be returned at the cost of BUYER when they are of shipping age which is 8 weeks for the puppies. I will also be responsible for all Vet bills incurred while bitch is with SELLER/BREEDER and I will pay $7.00 per day per puppy for their upkeep. I will also be responsible to pay the registration cost to AKC to register the litter. If the puppies from this litter are sold buy SELLER/BREEDER I must pay her 30% of the total cost for the puppy sold out of the litter.in the event that there is not a female puppy in first litter I, BUYER, agree to pay for dog in full for the amount of one thousand five-hundred dollars ($1500.00) to SELLER/BREEDER of KENNEL NAME, and this contract will be considered satisfied. I am entering into this contract with SELLER/BREEDER and not my husband and he has no say in any way of what is to happen with the sale of said puppy. I am not authorized to sell said puppy under any circumstances as I will be charged a large penalty and I agree to this whole heartedly and I also agree to this by signing this contract. I agree to never use baby diapers on said puppy for house training. I agree to never hit or yell at said puppy at any time. I agree to take puppy to regular Vet check ups and to keep SELLER/BREEDER informed at all times of how said puppy is doing and the progress of said puppy coming into heat. I agree not to breed the dog until her second heat and I agree I will not breed her every heat. I, BUYER, agree to be responsible and judicious breeder and to make sure that I protect this blood line but to also protect the said puppy from any harm that might befall her. I agree that said puppy will have a fenced yard and a life in the house as not only a breeder but as a loving companion. I am never to sell one the puppies from this bitch as a breeder without prior consent and approval from SELLER/BUYER all puppies must be sold on a spay and neuter contract and on limited registration. If this is not upheld I, BUYER, agree to pay SELLER/BREEDER the sum of five thousand dollars ($5000.00) in damages to her kennel name and her blood lines. I agree I shall never sell to pet stores, brokers, or puppy mills for any reason at all for life of the dog, if I do, I agree to pay SELLER/BREEDER six thousand dollars ($6000.00) for damages to her kennel name and her blood lines. I also agree to buy an approved male to breed this female after her first litter is sold. Said puppy is never to be bred to the males that I already own for they are not of equal quality.By signing this contract I am not disputing anything in it and I am of sound mind and body and not under any type of duress or pressure to sign this contract. I, BUYER, agree to everything in this contract and will abide by it for the entire 16-18 year life span of said puppy.
I SELLER/BREEDER will agree to sell said puppy to BUYER upon the signing of this contract and if contract is not signed BUYER forfeits all monies paid to SELLER/BREEDER at this time. This will conclude all transactions between these two parties and there will not be anymore contact with BUYER and BUYER'S KENNEL.

Please print this out and sign it, then send it back to me. If I do not receive this back from you signed within two (2) weeks of receiving it, I will assume that you do not agree and I will cancel all agreements and your money WILL NOT be refunded.
