I wasn't sure if I liked this machine because you can't see it agitate with the magnet in the lid that stops the machine if lid is lifted (safety (?) feature). If you own a decent magnet, you can slide it around on the little plastic piece that matches the magnet in the lid and get the machine to agitate when the lid is up (so you can see how poorly the clothes move around). I bought the machine because I thought it would fill with water like my old 1980s Maytag. What a disappointment. It only half fills and the agitation is so flawed that it hardly moves the clothes enough. If I limit the quantity, it moves them some better. And with the lid up, it actually fills with the correct water temp (with the lid down, on the warm setting, it alternates with extra hot and cold so your shrinkable clothes are being dowsed with that extra hot water = shrinkage!). And on the hot setting, with the lid down, it alternates between the hot and the cold, thereby making your load not really hot. If you change the setting buttons on the control panel, the machine then empties all the water out! And jeans or anything long come out with major twisting, which makes me wonder about the cleanliness of said item (s). I did not want a front loader because my belief is that water cleans the clothes, and a front loader uses very little water. This machine is another GOVERNMENT IDEA (they don't want us to use hot water to wash with), and obviously NOT designed by professional housewives. Also you can't set it to wash longer; all wash selections are timed and the timer goes if the lid is open and machine is not agitating, making the wash cycle either very short or non-existent. Washer just empties at end of time. Tip: I add extra water if I want to, with a bucket. Take that, Mr. Government man. Now I am stuck with this machine as we got rid of my old one (no room for two).
