CVS CAREMARK Hazardous to your health!

CVS CAREMARK %u2013 Hazardous to your health!

CVS Caremark of San Antonio, Texas, is by far the most arrogant, incompetent, callous, and predatory mail order prescription drug provider and insurer in these United States. Also I can label them sometimes malicious, as I have unfortunately found by complaining about their service.

I am a retired AT&T employee (my card shows RXGRP: ATTRX) and I am stuck with this nearly worthless drug insurance/provider company. My dealings with them, especially this year, have exacerbated my health problems, especially my blood pressure and anxiety conditions. Why? Read on.

They have consistently delayed maintenance medication shipments, sometimes by more than 6 weeks. They seem to play 'cat and mouse' games %u2013 example: by asking if they should contact the doctor for prescription refills for me. I would agree, and wait and wait for days and hear nothing else. I would phone them to inquire about the refills, and they would say they %u201Care about to contact%u201D the doctor (this is 2 weeks after they should have done so) and then they say %u201Conce they receive the prescription order it may take 7 to 10 days to fill it.%u201D This is approaching a full month of deliberate, unnecessarily delayed, vital medications.

In the meantime I go to my doctor and he electronically sends my 5 prescriptions to CVS Caremark. These are new prescriptions, for the exact meds I have always been taking. The doctor told me CVS Caremark has not contacted his office concerning me since last January.

Then, of 5 medications I should be receiving, I would receive only 2. And this is 10 days after the doctor submitted them all. I would go on line to their (CVS-Caremark) site and it showed the other 3 %u201Con hold%u201D with no reason given. So I phoned, and once they even said they had a %u201Chigh priority directive from me not to ship until I called for a shipment%u201D - I asked what the heck did they think I was doing now? And to ship any new Rx from my doctor any time he sent them one!

After waiting more than a week, I would phone them again, and they would say there was a hold on the Rx's, but promised to release them right away, and they had no idea why they were on hold. Then more than a week later I would receive 2 of these 3 expected medications %u2013 still missing one. I would go on line and see the 1 'controlled' substance placed on 'separate order' with no explanation. So I would phone, and I was told there had been a payment authorization problem concerning this Rx. But it was fixed now, they said, and my Rx would be mailed soon. I have never had a payment authorization problem before, and I doubt there was one here.

A week later I received only ½ of the 1 missing medication %u2013 45 days worth instead of the usual 90 days. And the bottle is clearly marked 1 of 1 and no refills available %u2013 essentially an arbitrary, if not malicious, reduction of medication, forcing me to visit the doctor much earlier than normal just to get another refill. Also, approximately 6 weeks have passed since I tried to get this Rx filled. As I said, they play %u201Ccat and mouse%u201D games... I wish I could say they have some reason, some logic, behind their ineptitude - but I cannot for the life of me think of one better than my first sentence of this review.
