I had been seeing this stylist, Sandy, for two years and since day one, she has relocated from place to place every month to every other month because most of the time she couldn't get along with her co-worker (s) or supervisor. When I phoned Sandy at one of her many new locations just to ask for help getting a braid undone after removing my extensions so that I could do my own hair and still have a little money left to buy new hair when needed, she asked how much money I had on me (only $40 due to the fact that I couldn't work anymore being pregnant) she insisted on having me come in and LITERALLY wouldn't let me get a word in edge wise when I kept trying to explain that all I wanted was for her to show me how to locate the braid and undo it, not do my hair especially since I was in bad need of my last $40.00.
With only 1/2 of my hair being done since I couldn't afford $200 for the full head at that time, I put on a baseball cap because it just didn't look right and right in front of her customers, she accused me of insulting her. If I wasn't satisfied with my hair, its my right to wear a baseball cap!
Well, it was about 11 months before I could return to actually have my hair done for the standard $200 and with work slowing down tremendously during the summer months, two babies to look after and my husband's job causing him not to make the money he had been making plus having just moved and being swamped with bills, KNOWING all this, Sandy was atually tacky enough to demand that I give her employee a $20 tip AFTER she spotted an extra $20 in my hand as I was paying her the $200. That $20 I needed to buy diapers so that I wouldn't have to use my credit card!
To keep my hair looking decent until I was ready to have it redone in a day or 2, I bought synthetic hair. I had done this before and the results were great however, this time for some reason I was having a problem getting it to blend.
When I phoned Sandy and asked if she could just instruct me, she began rambling over some b.S. Claiming that the call could be recorded, now that she's running her own business she didn't want to make herself liable, blah, blah blah. #1 most stylists who have had a client for 2 years or more wouldn't mind instructing especially since its just hair extensions, not a perm! Secondly, its more than obvious her one and only goal is to get money out of anyone she comes across.
I immediately looked for a new stylist in the phone book and found one on the first try. The new stylist had a cancelation and was able to do my hair the very next day. She did an even better job than Sandy could ever do and then some! I had been concerned about the thinning of my hair on one side and as soon as my new stylist saw it, she immediately told me what could be done for it! But the entire time I had been seeing Sandy, she completely ignored the thinning.
My new stylist doesn't believe in taking her clients for granted nor does she try to manipulate her way into your wallet by demandinig tip money the moment she sees cash in your hand especially if she knows you just might be going through financial hardship. If you ever go to Sandy, NEVER EVER make the mistake of flashing cash in front of her or she'll try to make you feel uncomfortable by making you think you owe her &/or her employee.incidently, her employee immediately left her salon for another place. That employee probably lasted two months or less. That says a lot especially with Sandy's history of moving from one salon to the next in a year's time.
