I am having a problem with a disreputable local pool service trying to rip off my mother, a 76 year old widow.
In Feb. Of this year, my father Robt. H. Paine signed
a proposal to service our pool, 2 checks were written
totaling 1000.00 in deposit work was guaranteed to be completed by 5/15/04, unfortunately my father passed away 5/14/04. No work was ever started or completed. My mother, a recent widow didn't feel up to resolving the issue so she asked me to.
I contacted "rob" @ Atlantis Pools, he tried to say he didn't know anything about it, originally offered to refund only $650.00 but wouldn't pay back the other 350.00, (the check for 350.00 was made out to his "partner" Steve Maratta which he refused to take responsibility for due to the fact that Steve didn't work for him anymore) after several unreturned calls, he finally made arrangements in sept. To come to the house, fill & cover the pool ONLY, & leave a check for $650.00, I agreed, trying to get some sort of resolve to the situation. Weeks later he went to the house, filled & covered the pool but didn't leave a check, tried to call him several times, no answer on any phone & fax line. Finally spoke to him today, he refused to pay & in turn threatened me & my family. This business is praying on the misfortune of a lonely woman who has recently lost her husband & can't fend for herself can you help?
