Country Kitty cat kennel boards cats but you will not be guaranteed to get all of your cats back alive. I only received one cat back from this boarding place alive. The other came home with me in a shoe box.
My husband and I have never boarded cats before so we relied on the expertise of the owners of this facillity to ensure the safety of our pets while we were on vacation. That's where we went wrong.
The facility is set up as if it were a dog kennel and their chain link fencing is extremely unsafe for cats. My kitten got her head stuck in the fence and was strangled to death. Apparently this happened some time during the night and she wasn't found until some time the next morning. The chain link kennels are not designed for cats. The holes are too big for kittens and strangulation should have been a question on my mind but like I said before, I relied on the expertise of the owner and trusted them when they said my kitten will be just fine. There were no alternative kennels to place my cats or I would have chosen a different place.
The owner of Country Kitty cat kennel didn't even offer any cremation or re-imbursements for what had happened. I have to pay out of pocket expenses on cremation when Country Kitty kennel should have to pay, and I also have to pay off my vet bills I incurred in order to board at the facility (i.E. Shots, exams etc.)
Country Kitty cat kennel is only open from 11am-12pm on Sunday. Yes, they are only open for 1 hour on Sundays. Kind of makes you wonder what they are doing the other 23 hours of the day. The certainly aren't making sure their kennels are safe or your cats are safe. Anyway, I called on Sunday to pick up my only remaining cat and bring him home and the owner is explaining to me what happened by saying 'accidents happen and there are no exceptions for picking up your cats on Sundays. Business hours are from 11am-12pm.' I was furious. Not only did the kennel KILL my kitten but they wouldn't allow me to pick up her body or my other cat until normal business hours! The boarding facility is at their house so we weren't expecting them to even have to drive anywhere to let us in.
If you love your cats, do not board your cats at Country Kitty Cat Kennel in Newberg, Oregon. The facility is unsafe for your pets, and they will not guarantee you will get them back alive.
