I found an injured kitten that was in a litter from one of our farm cats. The kitten was dying and I didn't really want him to keep suffering. I called the office and made an appt. For within the hour. When I arrived, they weighed him and washed him up. The doctor told me something had bitten him and there was two puncture wounds, one in the top of the head and one in the neck. Kitty was very weak, cold, and could barely move. He told me to give kitty antibiotics and keep him warm. He said to get milk replacement and try to feed him. I paid almost $60 for an exam and antibiotic. Kitty died a slow and painful death and me messing with him trying to nurse him only made it worse for him.
When I called my husband, he said he would call and surely they would at least refund the cost of the antibiotic. He basically said that he had told me the kitten probably had brain damage and that he would not be able to use the antibiotic so just keep it. WHAT!?! If he knew kitty was dying, why did he have me believing I could save the poor thing. What a horrible experience of a kitten I just happened to find and didn't want to suffer a long and painful death and that is exactly what happened anyway. I will not be back to this facility and am disappointed in the way the doctor handled this situation. So much for my big heart.
