Payment Refunded to Checking Account Then Late and Finance Fees Charged

I had the same problem with Macy's as the Bon Macy's complainer.

Only in my case, Macy's actually credited a payment by directly depositing the money back into my checking account, then began to charge late fees and excessive finance charges. I made several efforts to contact the company to straighten out the mess. I was ignored until I contacted the Better Business Bureau of Illinois. At that point the situation got worse. They reopened the account, which had closed, and began charging more fees. I received an envelope with old copies of billing statements with no explanation or resolution of the original problem.
