Rips off consumers with faulty recordkeeping

I signed up for MCI for regional and long-distance calls based on an offer received through the mail. Was not told by telephone that there would be any problem with my account. The day my phone service was changed, began getting recorded messages for all regional and long-distance called stating "All calls to this line are blocked." I spent 10 HOURS calling customer service representatives to find out what was wrong. No one could resolve the problem. The most information I got was that a year previously I had not made a deposit prior to signing up for an account, so they blocked all future accounts. I told customer service, that this is INCORRECT. I have perfect credit and have never been asked to place a deposit on an account. Furthermore, even if it were true, why would all future calls be blocked when the prior service was never implemented based on the alleged deposit. They had no answer. I was stuck without phone service, and signed up for Working Assets/Sprint within 2 days. Since then, MCI has billed me $50 for that month of phone service, which I never received, denied by complaint without a written reason, and has submitted the bill to a collection agency!
