This is the first time I have ever "filed" a complaint, but I believe Cross Country Bank is ripping innocent consumers off left and right. I had my credit card for well over a year, and I was never late with my monthly payment. Long story short, my monthly balance kept increasing even though I was not using the card for any purchases. One day I'm "over the limit" and totally confused as to how that occured since I was not using the card, and I was paying my monthly "amout due" religiously. Come to find out, they tack on fees for this, and fees for that, and DO NOT INCLUDE THESE "AMOUNTS DUE" with the dollar amount that they tell you to pay each month. Therefore, if your opening your bill and paying the "amount due" that they indicate in writing on your statement, you are still in violation of creadit card "policys" and therefore more fees are tacked on.in one week alone I have logged 32 calls here at my place of employement looking for payment. Today the collector, Melanie, started calling me names because I would not, yet again, go through this entire story here at my job, in front of my co-workers. When I do ask how they charge me all these fees they say "you have to read the terms of our policy's". This is how these companies make their money, but taking advantage of of the fine print. I ws told today they will garnish my wages for a payment that is 2 months late. Harrassment, mis-representation, verbal abuse... Theft. Their doors should be closed. Thanks for letting me vent!
