Planet's Purest Water
PPW deceptive buisiness tactics

In May I purchased 2 Nano Wam water purification units from Planet's Purest Water based on information provided to me by the company's president Robin Larson. The information about the unit was sent to me in the form a copy of the owner's manual which described the unit as an "on the counter" filter system that was easy to install and included battery powered digital monitoring. The ease of installation & the digital monitoring were the two factors that I based my decision to purchase the units. I had to pay for the units and two sets of replacement filters in full before PPW would process the order. Go to planetspurestwater.com and view the description of the Nano Wam unit. After waiting the 4 weeks of estimated delivery time, I wrote and asked for the status on my order. The president replied that the order would be delayed another 10 days as they were making modifications on their units. After another month without any notification of shipping the units I again wrote and asked for a status update on my order along with questions about other products or services PPW offered. I received answers about their other products, but never received a direct answer about my order status until August, which stated that PPW was still making modifications on the Wam units. I finally received deilvery of two units in December, without the two sets of replacement filters I ordered. The two units I received were not Nano Wam units, but units from two different Asian manufacturers. The units did not contain any type of digital monitoring as advertised. They were also marked as "under the sink" units. Thus, the modifications PPW claimed they were making actually eliminated the two features that I based my decision to purchase the units. Both units were not new. They came in unsealed packaging, and did not include any directions to explain the bags of brass fittings included in one box and a metal hose in the other box which contained no fittings at all. I also turned both dispensing valves on each unit and they both emitted a small amount of water without being connected to a water source. This leads me to believe the units had been previously used. When I wrote PPW and asked about instructions, Mr. Larson replied that they would be forthcoming. After another two weeks I received a short paragraph from one of PPW's associates explaining how to do the installation. No illustrations, no description of parts nor any customer service was provided to me. Since I did not receive units that were as advertised, I returned the units and informed PPW that I was returning the units for a refund. I received a reply from Mr. Larson stating that I had no authorization to return the units, and PPW wouyld not accept the return. I now realize why PPW inserted disclaimers on their invoice to disolve the company from any resposiblities or providing adequate customer service and satisfaction. Of course they have these disclaimers so they can sell anything they want and be legally protected. I don't expect to retrieve any of my investment from PPW, but at least want as many people as possible to beware of doing any type of business with this company. It is regretful that a company has to reduce its business integrity to make a profit without regard to customer satisfaction.
