I just got off the telephone placing an order for a 60-month magazine subscription plan for $29.99/month. For this, I am to receive subscriptions to five monthly magazines and one weekly magazines. One of the conditions to which I was asked to agree was that I would not cancel my order. They billed it to my Visa check card. Having done that, I then did what I should've done in the first place: look them up on usacomplaints.com.
When I did, I found an array of almost identical companies, all using the same technique, with customers reporting that they never received their subscriptions, and/or were overcharged. Furthermore, I checked their name on the Corporate Entity Database for the State of Nevada, and found that an entity with their name had its business license revoked.
When I looked up their physical address I found a link to a RIP OFF for basically the same company using a different name, but giving the same address. Anyone using that address for telephone solicitation should be immediately suspected of fraud by the solicitee.
