Keyes Realty and Attorney Bruce Kamellhai
Earnest Deposit stolen by Escrow/RE Attorney

We put down $5000 deposit last year on a home in which the contract expired and we did not get approved on financing. We requested our earnest money in writing 2 times after we didn't get the deposit back from Keyes holding the escrow monies. The RE contract clearly states that if contract expires, and or buyer does not get financing all deposits shall be returned. It's obvious this money is rightly ours as everyone would agree. The house ended up selling about a month later, which is public record-still no sign of the return of our deposit. Keyes attorneys filed a claim with the court saying they didn't know who rightly should get the $5000 back, and are now trying to take at least $2,675 for their legal and filing fees. We have also paid an attorney an additional $2000 which they have not helped in the least bit. This whole scenario is absolutely absurd, and I can't believe people like Keyes, and attorney Bruce Kamellhair can sleep at night when they are stealing money from hard working people, with little kids, who $5000 is a lot of money too. I just want to warn everyone how unethical, corrupt, and slimy this group is. Stay away, and also try not to put down a large deposit on home until you know you will be approved by the bank.
