Winner's International
Scam

A oddly accented man called my sister this afternoon from 18765081585 in Kingston, JM stating that they were calling from UPS and she had won a new Range Rover and $4.5 million. All she needed to do was wire $200 to a banker named 'Ramon McDonald' at address WIJA via Western Union to receive the money and the vehicle. After she told him that she thought it was a scam, the man argued with her and tried to convince her that it was not. He told her that they were located in Las Vegas, NV. When she asked to speak to a manger, he at first told her that there wasn't one available, but that she should call him back in 5 minutes but only speak to someone with the codename - speed and code # 70942. When she insisted on speaking to a manager herself, she was transfered (aka he passed the phone) to a 'David Peterson', who gave her a tracking number that was supposed to be from UPS, but was way too short and came back saying so. When she told him this, he told her that they would send her the tracking number when she gave them the receipt number from Western Union. She said she was not going to do that, and he changed the subject. He asked her a bunch of personal questions about her job and her kids. He then hit on her! He told her she had a nice voice, and asked her if she was single, and how old she was. He then said that she should come visit him in an unnamed tropical country, said that he would "hook her up" so she only had to pay for the plane ticket. He asked her to send him a picture, and made comments about her shape and her beautiful voice. He changed his tone to try to sound seductive and told her all kinds of things that he wanted to do with her if she came to visit, and then tried again to get her to send the $200. When she again refused, he then started telling her about how he needed a mother for his kids, and then he admitted that he was trying to scam her so that he could feed his kids! He said this was the only way that he could feed his kids... Essentially he gave her a sob story about these kids, that we don't even think exist considering he didn't even remember how many he had, and what their ages are. He then asked her to try to find it in the kindness of her heart to send him the money for his kids. Needless to say, this was the best laugh my sister and I have had in a long time! What a joke!
