I got to know Raven in the winter of 2012 when he cast me to be in a film that he was producing. He seemed very professional and legitimate. He said that he had just moved back to Colorado from being in New York several years.
At the end of that film shoot, I approached Raven about a film concept that my associates and I wanted to produce, and he engaged with me on this effort to work as a producer as a contact to potential angel investors that he claimed to have good connections with. Again, I had a good impression working with him. However, none of Raven's alleged angel investors ever panned out.
Then after a couple months, in May Raven asked me for a $1300 short-term loan for one of his projects. On May 21 I gave Raven the $1300 loan with a check paid to his mother, Claire Espinoza. Raven said that he did not have an account with a local Denver bank, only his NY account with Bank of America, and that is why he needed the payment to be made out to his mother. Raven said that I would be paid back in 10 days.
Raven never paid me back, and he dropped out of sight and contact in the middle of the project that I had engaged him on. The third parties that he brought in to the project have not heard from him either. At first I was worried that something had happened to Raven and I was concerned. However, I have since talked to other people that he has been in contact with recently. So it is clear that he is ignoring me and is blowing me off.
I am quite disappointed and out $1300.
