Since the untimely death of David Carradine, the Shaolin hero of the Kung Fu series, I have been waiting for a release of the "sequel", Kung Fu: The Legend continues to appear on dvd. When I saw that DVDMediaStar was offering the complete series, I thought, it's about time.
What I received was not what was advertised. The original add states that the entire 4 year series is on 12 dvds.in fact, the package was a whopping 25 discs! The recording was only on 1 side of each disc. The picture quality was terrible. Obviously a cheap imitation, with poor color and sound synchronization.
I even followed the directions provided by DVDMediaMonster to report that 3 of the 25 discs were defective (the dvd scanner was unable to read the images properly, resulting in the picture either seizing up and freezing, or requiring the disc to be ejected as the controls would not work on directing the disc) but as soon as I hit the send button, an error message comes up saying I need to phone them. Hello! They do not provide a phone number with which to contact them!
As much as I like the Kung Fu series, it really makes it difficult to enjoy the series when TV call letters, like TNT, or Showtime appeared in the lower corner of each episode. I can just imagine an individual, or individuals, busily producing pirated dvds from one dvd recorder to another. Gee, now I own some bad karma!
