We live in New York and decided to have a destination wedding in Florida. We enlisted the services of Orlando Weddings. As a wedding planner, Michele Rapaport, the owner of Orlando Weddings, received a deposit of $2500 for a wedding planned for July 31. At the end of June we sent her an additional $10,442 for the balance of the wedding. We have now learned that the company has gone out of business. We have tried phoning her, e-mailing her and even sent a certified letter, none of which has been acknowledged. We have contacted the Florida Better Business Bureau who began investigating and found that the company's name has been removed from the door. According to the City of Orlando, both her business license and tax license have been expired since March. We now have no wedding and no money with which to plan one!
