I purchased tickets through online TicketMaster in late August, charged to my credit card.
One month later, I was charged $9 on my credit card by ENT*ENTERTAINMENT BOOK. One month after that, a similar charge appeared.
I called 888-231-SAVE (the number listed on my credit card bill next to the charges) and was told that I had signed up, through a series of clicks, for a free trial of Entertainment Rewards, after which I agreed to be billed. When I responded that I had no recollection of ever having signed up for anything, I was asked if I had recently used TicketMaster to complete a purchase. I replied "yes". Then I was treated to a lengthy, click-by-click explanation of how I had unwittingly "subscribed".
After insisting that I had no intention of purchasing this service and had never used this service, and after I explained that I would hound them, TicketMaster, and my credit card company until a refund was executed, I was told the subscription was cancelled and that the charges would be reversed. I was given a confirmation number, and a confirming e-mail was sent to me.
Thanks to this website, I knew how to handle this.
