I'd been renting movies from this place for over 6 years and they've always said "no" to every request I've made concerning my account, but I just figured that's how they operate with everyone. For instance, recently I had an $11 late fee & wanted to pay half which they denied and said I had to pay the whole fee. My husband has experienced this as well with a small late fee on his account. One day recently, I was waiting next in line behind a "PREFERRED" customer and I over heard the clerk tell them "you all have a $35 late fee balance" and they stated "oh, we're just going to pay half of that." The clerk stated "that'll be fine." A day ago I went on the inside and rented a movie and after I'd already paid for it realized I had a buy one get one free rental coupon in my car. I decided I was going to use it another time but when I got in my car (hadn't left the lot yet) I looked @ the expiration date and noticed the coupon expires in 2 days. So I thought maybe since it's only been approximately 3-5 mins. Since I purchased the video I could just take it back, re-rent that video and another to keep from wasting a good deal. The clerk and manager (CHRIS) refused to do this like I was breaking a cardinal law or something. I decided maybe ya'll could just give me a credit and let me use my coupon. The manager (CHRIS) stated out loud with a store full of customers "Oh, I REMEMBER YOU, YOU HAD AN ISSUE WITH YOUR ACCOUNT LAST TIME." Evidently he was referring to my previous statement I mentioned about the late fee preferential treatment. After this he continued several times to refuse to credit my account so that I could use the coupon. And I refused to back down because it sounded like a foreign language to me. He finally stated out loud, "ALRIGHT, I'LL JUST CREDIT YOUR ACCOUNT FOR THIS MOVIE AND IT'LL SHOW UP AS A FREE RENTAL." Why couldn't he had just done that at first? After all it was my solution to the problem anyway. Maybe I just wasn't a "PREFERRED" customer in a "PREFERRED" neighborhood. No matter how much society denies "IT" guess what, "IT" still exists.
