I purchased tickets through Ticketmast back in July / 2005 by phone. After I ordered tickets, another person spoke to me about the Entertainment Rewards program. They explained everything, said that they would send information for me to look over and if I decided not to continue the plan I could cancel and could keep the $25 rebate for concert tickets. I said no I wasn't interested. Tempting but not interested.
The offer of the rebate was increased to $70 or so. I said no thank you. The person would not give up, again I said no Thank You. I then hung up and that was it.
Now I check my credit card statement online that I wil not get till later this month and find a charge of $9 from Entertainment Rewards 1-866-364-1333 Troy, MI I was puzzled about it and did a search through one of the search engines and found a few websites regarding scam from Entertainment Rewards.
Now I know I am not the only one that this has happened to.
I found this website through one the complaints sites and as I am filling out this report I called Entertainment Rewards because now I was mad. After 15 minutes of being on hold I have a customer rep take my called and explained to the rep that I had a charge from Entertainment Rewards that I had not authorized.
I asked when did I accept this program and he said on July 23. I said no way. I explained to them that I purchased tickets on phone and had said no the the Entertainment rewards program. Then they said that that is offered only through online not by phone purchase, I said that is not right because I did speak to somone on the phone about it and kept saying no. The customer rep said he would speak to his supervisor and finally came back to say my charge would be refunded and cancelled. I will keep an eye on this on my next statement to make sure I will not be charged again.
