Block Buster knowingly ripps off customers and does not give a crap! First I was charged a late fee on a movie I was almost positive I had returned early, but because I was unsure I went ahead and paid the late fee. The video that I rented that time, when I wrongfully paid the late fee, I returned on a Thursday (due Staurday) and went out of town Friday morning. A few weeks later, when renting a movie again, I was confronted with a late charge fee. They tried to say that the movie I returned on Thursday (early) was not returned until Saturday afternoon. We went round and round until I went out to my vehicle and retrieved a receipt indicating I had left early Friday morning and did not return home until the following Tuesday! So if I had returned the movie late it would have been no earlier than Wednesday! Fours days after they said I returned it! Third, my girlfriend talked me into giving them one more chance because she wanted to get a movie and did not want to spend the extra time of travel. Well this time I made sure the tape went back immediately after viewing. Fortunately I again went out of town on business. I received a phone call from them some weeks later indicating that I had a late fee to settle. And agian I had to produce an air line ticket stub indicating that I was out of town at the time the movie was supposedly returned! I thought that only this Block Buster was corrupt in knowningly cheating people out of their hard earned money. But according to this board, the corruption is nation wide! But think about it, most people do not argue simply because there is always difficulty in recalling exactly when you returned a video. And because most people can not concretely prove that they are right and Block Buster is wrong. Finally, most people do not like confrontation. Block Buster knowling uses this against customers to exploit them.
